About Kristi Miller

About

Kristi Miller is a teacher, a writer, a learner, and an artist. Raised in the Dallas area, she fell in love with teaching when she was ten years old. She began writing studies about walking with God while in high school––often adding a creative touch in order to better capture the heart of those she was teaching. Art, story, and music all resonate with her soul and she hopes with others, as well.

Kristi has taught biblical and educational studies in California, Indiana, and Texas. Graduating from Biola University with a major in education, she taught junior high students in southern California, and eventually joined Cru staff to work directly with teenagers in Indianapolis.

There she met her husband Tom and together they raised their four children. For two years they lived overseas in Budapest, Hungary in order to work with Cru while engaging high school students.

After relocating to the Dallas metro area, Kristi eventually earned a graphic arts degree and an additional coursework in psychology. She believes like the beauty in art, music, and the wonders of nature, that every person is created in God’s image as a uniquely sacred reflection of God. Each person has a personal story to tell of seeing God in the midst of their lives.

In 2015 she earned a Masters in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary, where she was involved with their mentoring program working with women, taking biblical and counseling courses, and designing artistic projects as part of the process.

One of Kristi’s themes in life and throughout her teaching is that God is in the midst of all of life––in the tranquility and chaos, in the successes and the failures, in love and romance, and in the callings of our daily life and in our work. God is in mist of all.

Kristi currently teaches international students through ESL and facilitates Cru courses online for college students around the country. She enjoys traveling overseas and sharing the love of God with those she meets.

Through all of life, Kristi, considers her family her greatest earthly joy. She and her husband Tom love being with their four grown children, their spouses, and nine very fun grandchildren.

Finding a Face is Kristi’s story of walking with God in the midst of her deep suffering. The book not only chronicles the story of how she initially lost her face, but it speaks of her sense of lostness as she looked for answers.

In the midst of her search, Kristi studied the life of Job. She now hopes that through the telling of her story others who are stumbling in dark places, or who are experiencing complicated places, or are walking in bountiful places can see God in deeper ways.
